Val di Fassa is surrounded by the most beautiful giants of the Dolomites: Catinaccio, Torri del Vajolet, Sella Group, Sassolungo, and Marmolada, the queen of the Dolomites.
Val di Fassa develops in the upper part of the Avisio river, from the Marmolada glacier, from which it originates, up to Moena, where it enters Val di Fiemme. It is the only valley in Trentino where the Ladin language is still widely spoken. The ski resorts in the valley are part of the Dolomiti Superski consortium, the largest in the world.
As for summer tourism, the small but well-stocked villages use winter lifts to take tourists to more convenient access points for splendid excursions, characterized by alpine lakes, woods and rocky walls.
